I ran 3 times this week, 14.85 miles
My left IT band appears to be healed. I'm not as fast as I was before though.
I took 55,282 steps this week according to my Garmin Vivoactive HR (VA-HR) smartwatch.

run: 4.75 miles, 41:49, 8:48 pace, 129 avg HR, 158 avg cadence, 57F, 70% RH, 9 mph SW wind, overcast

I got up and out early than yesterday. It was also almost 20F warmer so I wore shorts and a short sleeve tech. I ran only my 4.75 mile "Out to the pier" route since I ran 11.05 miles the day before. I set up a nice and steady pace. It was very quiet in the Ontario Beach Park and on the pier with just a few walker and fishermen. A woman who was stretching into a yoga pose laughed when I told her that "I would break if I tried that" as I ran past. It's true though ... I am not very flexible. My splits were: 8:41, 8:50, 8:48, 8:57 and 8:44 over the last 0.75 mile.

Meanwhile, other runners were down in Corning running the Wineglass Half and Full Marathon. 2887 runners finished the Half, results here. 1598 runners finished the Full, results here.

Maybe next year. I am thinking of running other half marathons next year rather than running the 4 Season Challenge and the Empire Half.

I pulled these races off of the 2019 calendar that I pull together from various timing companies (leone, score-this, pcr-timing, yen, yellow jacket racing and hourglassworks) and runningintheusa.com.

Anyway ... Christine and I watched the Bills play the Tennessee Titans. The Bills won a defensive game down in TN, 14-7, links here and here. It did help that the Titans kicker went 0-4 on his FG attempts (50 yard miss, 36 yard miss, 53 yard miss with a 33 yard blocked). UPDATE ... he was unemployed the next day.

It was Tuesday so I ran. I got out to Greece Arcadia High School a bit early. It's getting darker earlier so ... don't tell my boss. It was nice so I wore shorts and a short sleeve tech. I struck up a nice and steady pace on my usual "5 from GAHS" route. My splits were: 8:32, 8:29, 8:47, 8:44 and 8:39. I was kind of drenched with sweat when I got done. I had to put my earbud back together ... again after it dropped out of my ear. This time it was the battery in the piece that goes over the ear that needed to be fitted back together. It's geeing old but I am making due since I did like its long battery life.

It was Thursday and I didn't run. I found that the world didn't stop to take notice. My reasons? I slept horribly the night before so I was tired and even so I didn't get out of work until just after 5 PM. I usually fall right to sleep but last night I didn't fall asleep until almost midnight and woke up three time during the night before I got up at 5:45 AM. I like to try to get my run done by 5 PM in September and especially October since it is getting dark faster and faster in the fall.

I got out early for your basic "5 from GAHS" route. I had to park at the GAMS due to paving. I set up a steady pace and got it done. My splits were: 8:32, 8:35, 8:37, 8:41 and 8:47.

While I was asleep ... Eluid Kipchoge ran a 1:59:40 marathon in Vienna, links herehere and here. Eluid has won 12 out of the 13 marathons he had entered. He became part of the Breaking2 Challenge to run 2:00:25 on 5/6/17 and then the INEOS 1:59 Challenge. It's not an official marathon since it was not an open competition, he had 41 pacers ... it was a one man time trial. But ... just under 4:35 pace for 26.2 miles!

Today was a lazy morning and then a travel afternoon. I had booked the Super 8 on 7th North St in Liverpool NY. I used my free night from hotels.com so I only paid $28.30 for a nice room with a refrig, microwave and king-size bed. Christine and I went to out to eat at the nearby Dennys with my brother, Don. I hadn't seen him in over a year. We managed not to talk about politics since we are on opposite sides (our blue versus his red). We learned that his wife, Sherri, is not doing well and he doesn't expect her to live much longer. She has been overweight and smoked for a long time. So sad.
