I didn't run this week (not medically cleared to run)
I took x steps this week according to my Garmin Venu smartwatch.
My Venu gives me steps, heart rate and floors climbed (take that last data point with a grain of salt). My Withings WS-50 Smart Body Analyzer scale gives my weight. All weather conditions are from the Greater Rochester International Airport (KROC) which is 13.3 miles away.
WALKING/RUNNING: I had a Rheumatology appointment to look at my swollen right knee on 9/18. The doctor drained my right knee of 8cc. Tests were negative but a blood test showed an inflammation somewhere. Well ... an update as of Tuesday, 9/22/26 on my health due a general decline in fitness (a 5K of 9:15 on 7/19 to getting winded going up stairs in 2 months) along with a cough for about 3 months or longer. I had an overnight stay at the Unity Health Hospital with blood tests, a chest X-ray, EKG, CAT scan and an ultrasound of my legs. So ... I have a deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in my left leg and a bilateral chest embolism (clots). I will be on Eliquis to reduce the blood clots probably at least next 6 months along with NO running until medically cleared. I felt better on Eliquis in about 3 days.

Walk/Run electronics: I use my Garmin Venu for runs and walks. I listen to my TechNet bone conduction headphones, link here.

BTW, I was on a 2281-day steak (since 6/24/2020 or 6 years, 3 months) of either a walk, run or bike of greater than 1 mile until 6/21/2026. A hospital stay on 9/22/2026 kept me in. So ... I began another streak as of 6/23/2026.

steps, running/max HR, pounds, floors climbed
Walk: 2.05 miles, 27:04, 13:12 pace, 114/146 avg/max HR, 124/199 avg/max cadence, 64F, 60% RH, 18 mph SSW wind, sunny
Shoes: blue/orange Brooks Glycerin GTS22 - 230.81 miles
I got out to a brisk 13:12 pace on my usual "Out to Latta Rd" route just before the Patriots - Bills game at 1 PM. I pushed the pace a bit and felt a slight twinge in my left hamstring when I was done. I can't take NSAIDs because of Eliquis so I didn't take anything ... whatever. My splits were 13:15, 13:10 and 13:05 over the last 0.05 mile.
Well ... the Bills put up a stinker at the new Highmark Stadium, 26-29, to fall to 3-1. The defense let them down and Josh couldn't pull them out for a win.

I got out for a brisk walk on my usual "Out to Latta Rd" route. I wore my old black warmup pants and a long sleeve tech. My splits were 13:45, 13:01 and 12:22 over the last 0.05 mile.
Tuesday, 10/6/2026
steps, running/max HR, pounds, floors climbed
Walk: 2.15 mile, 28:00, 13:02 pace, 98/122 avg/max HR, 126/198 avg/max cadence, 48F, 53% RH, 10 mph NW wind, wind chill 44F, sunny
Shoes: blue/orange Brooks Glycerin GTS22 - 235.01 miles
I got out for a brisk walk on my usual "Out to Latta Rd" route. It was a bit cool again, so I wore my old black warmup pants and a long sleeve tech. I was still a bit cold until I warmed up ... the sun helped! I felt a twinge in my right Achilles, so I slowed down once I got back into the parking lot. My splits were 12:57, 12:54 and 14:29 over the last 0.15 mile.
Wednesday, 10/7/2027
steps, running/max HR, pounds, floors climbed
Walk: 2.05 miles, 29:10, 14:14 pace, 93/107 avg/max HR, 120/136 avg/max cadence, 70F, 43% RH, 16 mph SSW wind, mostly cloudy
Shoes: blue/orange Brooks Glycerin GTS22 - 237.06 miles
I slept in today. Why? My darling wife, Christine, got her flu and COVID shots yesterday and developed a fever of 100.3F this morning. We coddled so she could get some more sleep. So ... I didn't get out until after 2 PM when it had warmed up quite nicely. I wore shorts and a Hamlin Half tank top to celebrate ... lol! My left knee was a bit stiff, so I started out a bit slow. I loosened up after 1/2 mile and then picked up the pace a bit. My splits were 14:49, 13:43 and 13:10 over the last 0.05 mile.
Thursay, 10/8/2026
steps, resting/max HR, pounds, floors climbed
Walk: 2.05 miles, 26:54, 13:07 pace, 93/107 avg/max HR, 120/136 avg/max cadence, 66F, 40% RH, 10 mph WNW wind, partly cloudy
I got a bit after 3 PM for a brisk walk on my usual "Out to Latta Rd" route. I had to get out before I got testy after an afternoon of not doing much except trying to kill about 20 flies that had descended upon our townhouse. My splits were 14:49, 13:43 and 13:10 over the last 0.05 mile.
